Spring is beautifully settling into the Burgundy vineyards, and we recently had the pleasure of walking through a parcel of Saint-Romain Blanc belonging to one of our partner winegrowers. It is always a meaningful visit, offering a chance to take the pulse of the vines at a key moment in their cycle.
On this occasion, we observed that the buds are beginning to emerge—a promising sign for the start of the season. The beautiful early spring we’ve been enjoying has encouraged an early and balanced awakening of the vegetation, bringing already vibrant, lively landscapes.
However, this head start in nature also calls for increased vigilance: young shoots remain particularly vulnerable to late frosts, which can occur as late as the “Ice Saints” period in May. It is always a tense time, when every degree matters to safeguard the work of an entire year.
This Saint-Romain Blanc, which you appreciate so much, stands out for its remarkable freshness and fine minerality—qualities that make it both elegant and expressive. We know how much it is among your favorites, and we fully share your enthusiasm.
